How Botley collects, uses, stores, and protects account, course, media, payment, and analytics data.
What we collect
We collect account details such as name, email address, authentication provider, language preference, and billing status.
When you create courses, we store project metadata, slide files, recordings, exports, subtitles, summaries, landing page content, pricing settings, enrollments, and student progress.
We collect operational data such as device/browser information, error reports, audit logs, product events, and export job status so we can keep the service reliable.
Media and course content
Your uploaded slides, camera recordings, generated exports, attachments, transcripts, and course landing content remain your content.
We process media files to provide recording, editing, export, publishing, learner access, and support workflows.
Creators are responsible for having the rights needed to upload, publish, and sell their course content.
Payments
Botley stores payment metadata such as provider, amount, currency, order reference, status, and access grant records.
Card details are handled by the configured payment provider. Botley does not store full card numbers.
Payment callbacks are used to create enrollments, grant lesson access, and help creators reconcile course sales.
Analytics and diagnostics
We collect product analytics for the core funnel: signup, project creation, slide upload, recording, export, publishing, checkout, payment, and enrollment.
We collect client and worker error reports with route, release, browser, stack trace, and related metadata where available.
Analytics and diagnostics are used to understand product health, troubleshoot user issues, and improve the course creation workflow.
Service providers
Botley uses infrastructure and service providers for hosting, database, authentication, storage, payments, video processing, email or messaging, and optional AI features.
These providers process data only as needed to operate Botley and support the features you use.
Retention and deletion
We keep account, project, course, payment, and diagnostic records for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security.
Creators can request account deletion or data export by contacting support. Deleting published content can remove student access to that content.
Contact
For privacy questions or requests, contact the Botley team using the support channel listed in your workspace or on the website.
